Many of the complaints that present to chiropractic offices today are largely soft tissue in nature. At CHIROWORx Spine & Rehab, treatments are tailored to target specific tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia that are directly linked to either the cause or effect of an injury.
Dr. Barrett is well practiced in the diagnosis and treatment of many common soft tissue complaints and has acquired additional training in the areas of myofascial release, Active Release Technique, Graston Technique, and trigger point therapy to further aid in the healing of injuries and increased performance of his patients.
Active release technique is a soft tissue therapy that helps to relieve tight or sore muscles, release tender trigger points, and reduce stress on the joint structures of the body through active movement of specific muscles by the patient.
The Graston Technique is a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization that focuses on treating the muscles and fascia of the body through a form of “scraping” that was developed to breakdown scar tissues and other fibrous adhesions known to limit range of motion and generate pain.
Trigger point therapy involves adding focused pressure to the painful “knots” in the muscles that are commonly referred to as trigger points. With this pressure, we can de-sensitize the trigger point and the area around it allowing for less pain and improved range of motion and performance.
