We believe that adjustments and soft tissue therapies are only a small piece of the much larger picture that is rehabilitation.
The human body is designed to move and adapt. In order for our patients to get the most from our care, we include in each care plan case-specific therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises designed to provide strength and stability to our patients’ areas of concern.
We can get you out of pain and moving better each and every visit, but it is ultimately up to the patient to maintain and build on their progress both in the office and at home. Active recovery beats passive recovery, every time.
Physical therapy is beneficial to almost everyone, and has proven especially effective for treating and rehabilitating sports injuries, lower back pain, and those who are recovering from various surgeries. By introducing you to therapeutic exercises and activities that strengthen muscles, improve mobility, and relieve pain, Dr. Barrett will set you up to make the most of your treatment at CHIROWORx, regardless of the condition you came in with.
How many times per week you will see Dr. Barrett for physical therapy is entirely dependent on the condition you presented with and your motivation to complete prescribed physical therapy exercises at home. Dr. Barrett will lay out his recommended schedule for your in your treatment plan. Generally, treatment plans can call for physical therapy anywhere from one to three times per week.
The type of treatment you receive will be based of of Dr. Barrett’s initial evaluation of your condition. The multidisciplinary team at CHIROWORx is equipped to offer a variety of hands-on joint and soft tissue treatments, exercise techniques, and pain-reducing activities. No matter the specific treatment you are prescribed, it will always be aimed at increasing motion and strength, reducing pain, and restoring function.
